Easy laundry organization tip #1

With just a little time invested and a few dollars, you make your laundry room into something that makes a lot of sense and doesn’t require a lot of effort. The laundry should be easy to sort and easy to access. One great solution is investing in hampers or increasing your shelf space so you have more organization over your supplies. Most people feel much more in control when they have two hampers for laundry, one for whites and one for colors. With these simple tips you can simplify the laundry chores and live more organized.

Easy pantry organization #3

Assign one shelf to your perishable goods
If you have ever looked through the pantry because you smelled something that had gone bad and found a potato rotting in a back corner, you know how important it is to keep perishables in an easily viewed area. Devote one shelf to perishables and use containers that will keep them fresh, stackable and easy to see.

Easy pantry organization #2

Once a month, clean it out!
A simple 30 minutes every 3 - 4 weeks will help keep your pantry organized. This will save you money, as you won't be throwing away as many items that have an expired ‘use by date’. This will also save you time previously spent looking for items when you need them. Just a few minutes of pantry cleaning & organization each month will be worth the time!

Easy pantry organization tip #1

Organize your pantry like the grocery stores organize their shelves.

Store the items you don't use often in the harder to reach places; the top and bottom shelves. Place the items you use the most often on the shelves where you can reach them the fastest. If you have children, place items you want out of reach up on high shelves and items you want them to access themselves (i.e. fruit snacks or juice boxes) onto lower shelves.

Make money and clean the closet

Consignment stores have opened up all over because people know that they can find great bargains on quality used clothing for themselves. The flip side of buying consignment is selling your stuff on consignment, which is a great way to clear your clutter and make some money while your organizing.

Easy closet organization tip #5

*Have clothes organized by categorizing them. For example, on the clothing rod, keep jeans hung together, dresses together, skirts together and dress shirts together.
*Establish specific drawers by category. Such as; t-shirts only, lounge clothes, or pajamas.
*Arranging clothes by the same color can be a time saver.

For more room in your closet, store your seasonal items: Save space in your main closet by storing seasonal items in a spare closet, or in a storage bin under your bed.

Easy closet organization tip # 3

Determine which clothes to donate or give away. Get rid of clothes that don't fit, clothes that you never wear, and clothes that don't match anything. Although a good organizational system can maximize your closet space, many times the problem can be simply too much stuff in too small a space.

Easy closet organization tip #2

Use similar hangers for a clean look that will care for your clothes and help you stay organized. Using one type and color of hanger (wood, plastic, etc.) simplifies the look as it gives a sense of uniformity and control over your space.

Easy closet organization tip #1 for Johnson City and Kingsport Tennessee

Tip 1: If the shoe fits

When you are keeping your shoe boxes for storage, label what is inside. We like the Post-it tabs because they offer a writable surface and are quick and easy to apply. Alternatively, you could invest in clear shoe boxes or clear storage boxes with drawer-front pulls; they allow you to see what's inside so you can easily access your shoes. If you can't see it you are less likely to use it!

Maintain your Custom Closet for Johnson City Bristol and Kingsport

Clean It Out
Decide which clothes and shoes that you wear and items that you need to get rid of. Use the basic rule of thumb of closet organizing; If you haven’t worn it in a year, it should go!

Also, if it doesn’t fit you well, it is time to get rid of it. Instead of hanging on to your skinny jeans until you lose a few pounds, donate them. Then when you get down to your goal size, treat yourself to a new pair of jeans.
